Tatreez — Palestinian embroidery

Tatreez is Palestinian cross-stitch embroidery, passed from mother to daughter. Patterns are not decoration alone — a motif can say which village a woman comes from, what she grew up near, what she hoped for. A single cushion panel can take weeks of evenings. Every piece here is stitched by hand; where we know the pattern's name or the region it belongs to, it is written on the piece's page.
